Balkan Holidays has promoted Lynsey Jones to a new position of Head of Sales and Brand, overseeing both sales and marketing for trade and direct channels. The operator is also taking on two Regional Sales Managers in December, while its existing RSM, Natasha Smith, will step into a new role focusing on homeworkers. At the same time, Emiliyan Stoyanov will join the team from reservations as Sales & Marketing Associate, collaborating with Lynsey.

Home » Hays charters four planes to fly delegates to its retail conference Hays Travel branch managers and head office colleagues have flown to Antalya in Turkey for the company’s annual overseas retail conference on four specially chartered aircraft. Chair and owner Dame Irene Hays joined staff on one of the flights, from Newcastle, on Monday.

Two powerful earthquakes have damaged buildings, roads and power lines in Cuba, which is still struggling to recover from two hurricanes in recent weeks. Both tremors, the second of which was the strongest, were felt in several cities in the east of the country, including Santiago de Cuba, Holguin and Guantanamo, and as far away as Florida and in Ocho Rios in Jamaica. The Foreign Office said the second, most-powerful earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.8, was followed by a series of aftershocks.

AmaWaterways co-founder Rudi Schreiner confirmed the river cruise operator is looking to add more destinations, possibly from 2027. Speaking at an ‘appreciation lunch’ held in London for key UK partners, Rudi said Ama was ‘looking again at India’, plus he would like to return to Myanmar and Russia, once it is feasible to do so.

Tenerife is expecting a 77% increase in UK tourists in the first nine months of 2025. The projected increase for 2025 follows a near 10% rise last year to over 2.5m UK visitors. Additional airlift, including new flights from Bournemouth with Jet2 and from Cardiff with Ryanair, has provided 13% more seats this winter, and bookings to Tenerife for the last quarter of this year alone are up 41% over the same period of 2023.
