Founded in 1953 as Travel Trade Gazette, TTG holds the distinction of being the first weekly newspaper dedicated to the travel industry. Today, TTG Media continues to provide reliable news and insightful articles through a weekly magazine aimed at audiences in the UK and Ireland. In addition, TTG hosts various in-person training sessions, operates a news-driven website, fosters a community for luxury travel experts, organizes an annual travel awards event, and offers tailored marketing campaigns and job listings, among other services. TTG also releases ttgluxury, a quarterly magazine focused on the luxury travel market, along with custom supplements. For the last four years, TTG has been responsible for creating the daily publications for London's World Travel Market, distributing these magazines to more than 50,000 attendees each day of the event.

Audley Travel owner 3i Group has put its plans to sell the brand on hold owing to unfavourable market conditions. 3i last October hired advisory firm Baird to explore "strategic options" for Audley’s "next stage of growth". The Financial Times reports 3i had hoped to raise around £600 million from the sale of Audley, which it agreed to acquire in late-2015. At the time, 3i invested £159 million in Audley.
