Tri-County Times
The Tri-County Times is one of the two semiweekly newspapers in Genesee County, Michigan. Unlike the Flint Journal, which covers a larger area including parts of Grand Blanc and is released on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, the Times focuses on the Fenton area and is published on Wednesdays and Sundays. Rockman Communications has owned the newspaper since it began on April 3, 1994.

Holly — The Fenton and Holly track programs re-ignited its area rivalry on Tuesday with Flushing crashing the party. The three teams did battle and the Holly girls defeated both Fenton 66-61 and Flushing 84-44. Fenton beat Flushing 94-29. In boys action, Fenton beat Holly 80-44, but neither team could beat Flushing. The Raiders beat Fenton 94-34 and beat Holly 105-23. Alexis Lindley and Maddie Lindey were a big reason why the Holly girls swept both teams.

Holly — All it took to settle the Fenton-Holly varsity baseball three-game series last week was 58 runs between the two squads. Offenses dominated the series. On Monday at Fenton High School, the Tigers won a 17-15 thriller. The second game was suspended due to darkness and it was finished at Holly on Wednesday. The Tigers won that contest as well 12-5. Wednesday’s final game of the three-game series was a little more settling defensively as Holly (3-2 overall) earned a 7-2 victory in that one.

Linden — The game featured four ties and three lead changes. The game remained in doubt right until the final seconds. What else could you ask out of a Fenton-Linden varsity boys lacrosse game? That’s what happened on Tuesday at Linden High School. When the dust settled, the Tigers overcame a three-goal deficit entering the fourth quarter, earning a 9-8 Flint Metro League win.

The Linden varsity girls track and field team remained undefeated in Flint Metro League play, dominating Tuesday’s Metro foes. Meanwhile, the Linden boys earned a split decision. The Linden girls defeated Swartz Creek 81-40 and Kearsley 93-31, earning 11 overall firsts among the three squads. The Linden boys had five overall firsts and beat Kearsley 68-60 but lost to Swartz Creek 79-49. The Linden girls had three athletes earn two individual firsts each.
