With a little assistance, the priority candidate for the chancellor position at the University of Nebraska at Kearney proudly attached a blue and white UNK lapel pin to the front of his jacket. It’d been six years since he last wore this accessory, and he was honored to be representing the Lopers again. “It means everything to me,” Schnoor said.

Dr. Neal Schnoor, priority candidate for UNK chancellor, was formally introduced Wednesday during a press conference in Lincoln. The event included comments from Schnoor, University of Nebraska System President Dr. Jeffrey Gold, Regent Paul Kenney and UNK Student Regent Sam Schroeder. A Nebraska native and first-generation college graduate, Schnoor has more than 30 years of experience in higher education leadership, instruction and strategic planning.

As a wildlife biology major, Huber was right in his element at Lake Ogallala, a popular fishing destination in western Nebraska.
