The United States Sailing Association, commonly known as US Sailing, serves as the official governing organization for sailing in the U.S. Established in 1897 and based in Bristol, Rhode Island, it operates as a nonprofit organization under section 501(c)(3). US Sailing is dedicated to providing training and educational resources for instructors and race officials, assisting various sailing clubs and communities, issuing offshore rating certificates, and managing competitive sailing events nationwide, including National Championships and the US Sailing Team.
