Southside’s girls have four who flew like the wind past those hurdles and to the finish line at last Thursday’s meet with Northside High School. The group was led by senior I’Kiryah Minor, who beat out teammate Tamie Mcneal for the top spot.

The football camp will be held June 17-18 at the school’s football field. It will run from 8 a.m. to noon each day and is open for children in grades third through eighth. The cost is $25 per person and includes a T-shirt, certificate and snack each day.

Mark Cagle will get to cross one of those items off his running list when he participates in the Boston Marathon on April 21, the day after Easter. He’s an avid runner so the training that goes into running one of the mecca events in the world doesn’t deviate too much from what he does on a daily basis.

Then, in the winter, it’s on to participating in basketball and other activities before switching over to soccer in the spring. Inbetween, there’s things like getting ready for prom, graduation and all the other things a senior has to do.
