    Waste Connections Inc., Toronto, has announced its results for the first quarter of 2025. Revenues totaled $2.2 billion, up from $2 billion in the year-ago period, or 7.5 percent.     FCC Environmental Services (FCC) has agreed to purchase Wheelabrator South Broward Inc., which owns the South Broward Waste-to-Energy (WTE) Facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from WIN Waste Innovations. The transaction is anticipated to close in the second quarter of this year, marking FCC’s strategic expansion into the U.S. waste-to-energy sector. The South Broward facility, operational since 1991, processes approximately 824,000 tons of residential and commercial postrecycled waste annually.

    FCC Environmental Services, based in Houston, has been awarded the contract to operate the South Municipal Waste Transfer Station for the city of Minneapolis, marking the company’s second contract in Minnesota since entering the state in 2024. Under the terms of the agreement, FCC Environmental Services will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the transfer station, as well as the transportation of construction and demolition debris (C&D) and municipal solid waste (MSW) materials.
