WBZ-AM (Boston, MA)
WBZ (1030 kHz) is a Class A clear channel AM radio station based in Boston, Massachusetts. Previously owned by Westinghouse Broadcasting and CBS Radio, it is now managed by iHeartMedia. During the day, WBZ broadcasts an all-news format, while its evening schedule features talk radio shows. The station operates with a powerful transmitter, broadcasting at 50,000 watts, and uses a directional antenna that primarily directs its signal westward. As a result, it can be easily picked up in many parts of southern New England during the day. Under optimal conditions, listeners can hear it as far east as New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in Canada, as far south as Eastern Long Island and Monmouth County in New Jersey, and as far west as the outskirts of Hartford, Connecticut. At night, its signal reaches a vast area across much of eastern North America.
