This station has been part of the Cox Media Group since it started, making it one of the two stations established and launched by Cox, the other being WSB-TV in Atlanta. The transmitter for WHIO-TV is situated on Germantown Street in the Highview Hills area of southwest Dayton. The station shares its facilities with the Dayton Daily News and several radio stations owned by Cox in the Cox Media Center, located on South Main Street close to downtown Dayton.
