That's because of a prescribed burn scheduled for the next two days at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, weather permitting. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection says the two burns, one today and one tomorrow, will consist of 440 acres of pine flatwoods in the middle of the park, along Park Drive and the equestrian area near Eaglesview.

Photo: CBS 12A Loxahatchee man will be giving up all of his weapons while he's tried on charges of making multiple mass shooting threats online. 22-year old Damien Allen has agreed to the Risk Protection Order filed by prosecutors just ahead of his arrest in April. Deputies say the man was found with 18 guns, a Taser-like device, 15 airsoft guns and 12,000 rounds of ammo.

Democrat Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick was in charge of Trinity Healthcare during the pandemic when the company was overpaid by the state for COVID vaccine services. The Florida Division of Emergency Management filed suit against her in December after she failed to pay back the nearly $6 million owed.

A man is hospitalized after cops in Jupiter discovered him suffering from a gunshot wound at a home this morning. Jupiter PD says officers responded to the home along Town Hall Avenue around 8 a.m. to calls of a domestic disturbance. Officers provided medical assistance until rescue crews arrived and took the victim to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach. There is no suspect information at this time.
