The Wymondham and Attleborough Mercury, along with its sister publication, the Diss Mercury, was established in 1984. The Diss Mercury replaced the former South Norfolk News, while the Wymondham and Attleborough Mercury was developed from the Wymondham segment of the Norwich Mercury.

    David Moar MBE, who was president of the Big C Cancer Charity, died on Saturday at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Since its establishment in 1980, Big C has become one of the largest charities in East Anglia, having raised more than £45 million. There are centres located across the region that offer free support services, including counselling, complementary treatments and bereavement support, and the charity also funds cancer research at Norwich Research Park.
