    One basketball player and two football players are receiving the latest WyoPreps Athlete of the Week awards based on performances from June 9 through June 15, 2025. Elyn Bowers, Keona Wisniewski, and Smith McClure all had standout performances during the all-star competitions last week. Bowers led the Wyoming girls’ all-stars to a win over Montana. Wisniewski and McClure earned MVP honors in the Wyoming Shrine Bowl.

    Campbell County High School’s Reese Dorr has chosen her track and field career at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS). Door was a two-time state champion during her prep career. She earned all-state honors in indoor and outdoor track and field. Reese qualified for the indoor track state championships three times and all four years for the outdoor state track meet. Dorr won the 2024 state championship in the pole vault at the Wyoming Indoor Track State Championships.

    Jackson Hole High School sophomore Ruby Hoelscher was selected as the Gatorade Wyoming Girls Soccer Player of the Year for the second consecutive season on Wednesday. This award is for the 2024-25 season. In its 40th year of honoring the best high school athletes in the nation, The Gatorade Company announced this year’s winner. Hoelscher led the Broncs to the Class 4A state championship in the 2025 season and a 17-3 record. It was Jackson’s first 4A title and first girls’ soccer crown since 2016.

    Kate Mann from Jackson Hole High School has signed to play softball at Arizona Christian University. Mann was a second-team all-state and first-team all-conference selection in the North Region during the 2025 prep softball season in Wyoming. She also played travel softball with the USA Explosion program out of Idaho and for the Jackson Grizzlies. As a senior this spring, Mann had a .415 batting average with 27 total hits and 13 RBIs. She had four doubles, one triple, and one home run.

    The 2025 Milward Simpson Award winners will be revealed on Saturday in Cody. This award is considered the most prestigious honor a prep athlete can earn in their high school career. It is also the 50th year of the award. The finalists include five girls and five boys. Each recipient receives a plaque, and the winners (one girl and one boy) get an additional plaque to be displayed at their high school. WyoPreps is curious to see who the public would choose among the finalists this year.
