Konami has revealed that Silent Hill f, its upcoming 1960s-set horror, will be released on 25th September, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The trailer shows off some of the game’s third-person combat, and, though its protagonist is vulnerable, she appears able to defend herself in similar fashion to James, in Silent Hill 2. Namely, by swinging pipes and clobbering monsters. The combat also appears more tactile and involved than we're used to with Silent Hill.

Konami has released a new trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, giving us a look at monkeys and lots more. The game is scheduled to be released on 28th August, and this latest trailer does much to sharpen the appetite. We're getting the monkeys from Ape Escape, which is obviously brilliant. We're also getting what could be a kind of multiplayer mode, if you look at the end of the trailer. Is that another player trying to find snake?

If you've recently been exploring the verdant expanses of Cyrodiil, in the Oblivion remaster, you might consider giving Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon a look. Elden Ring Nightreign is being billed as a standalone follow-up to Elden Ring, which is like saying that Wallace stands alone from Gromit. Both are their own beings, possessed of their own qualities, to be sure. But both also exist in a pleasant domestic harmony, to say nothing of the fact that they have both been pulled and moulded from the same slab of clay.

The new game from developer MercurySteam is Blades of Fire, which is not a good name. Blades of Fire. It sounds like a documentary about patriotic ice skaters. In fact, it’s all about a man named Aran de Lira, who spends his time in the kind of colour-graded forests that belong on paperback fantasy novels, forging weapons. Not just swords but polearms, spears, daggers, axes – whatever he fancies. The bad news is that the land is under threat.
