A West Rome man who is a convicted felon was arrested on Cherry Street in West Rome Saturday afternoon when he was found in possession of a gun, reports state. Malcolm Tyrell Kennedy, 21, is charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He remained in jail without bond as of Monday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Joseph Franklin Jordan, 53 of Charlotte, was sentenced to 262 months in prison today for distribution of child pornography, announced Dena J. King, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina. Upon his release from prison, Jordan will be subject to a lifetime of supervised release and must register as a sex offender. NASHVILLE – Demetris Octavius Parrish, 37, of Nashville, Tennessee, was sentenced on Friday to 15 years in prison for unlawful possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, announced Acting United States Attorney Thomas J. Jaworski for the Middle District of Tennessee. At approximately 8:30 a.m. on February 26, 2021, Parrish entered the R&B Market located at 2600 Clarksville Pike, in Nashville. The Market’s manager recognized Parrish as a regular customer.

Police said a motorist was possibly injured Thursday in a Dubuque collision. 48-year-old Brian Schurman of Lancaster, Wis., complained of pain and was treated at the scene by the Dubuque Fire Department and was not transported to a medical facility. The incident occurred at around 3 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of 32nd Street and Central Avenue.

Police said a teenager was injured Thursday after being hit by a motorist in Dubuque. 17-year-old Anelyse Sweeney, of Armington, Ill., suffered minor injuries and went to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital for treatment. The incident occurred about 5 p.m. Thursday at the North Grandview Avenue-Delhi Street roundabout. According to a police crash report, a motorist was westbound on Delhi when he hit Sweeney, who was using a crosswalk. The unidentified motorist then drove away.
