A client of People Inc. who was attacked April 1 by another client at a provider's site in the Town of Tonawanda has died, Town of Tonawanda police said Wednesday. The woman, identified as 56-year-old Diana Robinson of Amherst, died Tuesday, police said in a news release. The other client was charged earlier this month with first-degree assault. The Buffalo News is not disclosing his name at this time. The Erie County District Attorney's Office is considering filing additional charges, police said.

Crime Stoppers WNY has offered a reward for information about Buffalo's first homicide of 2025. The organization will provide a reward of up to $7,500 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment in connection with the slaying of J'Quawn J. Buchanan. Buchanan, 28, was found shot to death Jan. 1 on Ivy Street, between Genesee Street and Walden Avenue. Authorities ask anyone with information to call 716-867-6161 or submit a tip through Crime Stoppers' "Buffalo Tips" app.

The Niagara Falls food truck owner accused last year of setting on fire a woman he accused of stealing has been offered a plea deal that would land him in state prison with a sentence of between 18 and 20 years. Barinder Singh has about two weeks to make a decision on the offer, which comes after the judge ruled that prosecutors can use many of the statements Singh made to police after the incident, as well as the victim's identification of Singh as her attacker.

Buffalo police have placed five officers on administrative leave in connection with the internal investigation into a series of vehicle crashes last year by the Erie County Sheriff's Office's Chief of Narcotics Daniel "D.J." Granville. Buffalo police also have issued Granville three new citations for leaving the scene of a crash without reporting it. Granville crashed his county-owned pickup into seven parked vehicles on April 11, 2024, on Buffalo's West Side.
