BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Five officers with the Buffalo Police Department have been placed on administrative leave as an investigation continues into their actions responding to a series of crashes involving an Erie County Sheriff's chief exactly one year ago. Chief Daniel "DJ" Granville was in his county-owned pickup truck late at night on April 11, 2024, when he hit seven vehicles on three different West Side streets.

BUFFALO — For more than seven years, Whitman Kwok has worked to develop his company's cutting-edge process to make customized cycling helmets using 3D printers. Now, he's about to open a new manufacturing facility — not in Silicon Valley, where he started his business, but in Buffalo. "The people are great," Kwok said of Western New Yorkers. Kwok's company, KAV, was one of the $1 million winners of 43North's startup competition in 2023.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — After decades of decline, Downtown Buffalo was experiencing an incredible resurgence: new construction, high office occupancy rates, a growing tax base. About 20,000 fewer employees are driving into downtown each day, with many working remotely at least a few days per week.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Erie County has signed an emergency contract to boost road salt supplies for the county and most municipalities amid an ongoing shortage. The Erie County Commissioner of Public Works said he secured 5,000 tons per week, with the option to double that, for the remainder of the winter season. The first shipment could arrive as soon as Friday. Bill Geary spoke with me from the Port of Buffalo, where the shipments will arrive and where he secured space for the product.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo AKG is wrapping up perhaps the most ambitious art project in the museum's storied history. "Marisol: A Retrospective" is a traveling exhibition — organized by AKG staff — that's been 7 years in the making. It's already been to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Toledo Museum of Art, and after Buffalo, it will head to the Dallas Museum of Art. Marisol was one of the most prominent artists of her generation, dominating the New York City art scene for much of the 60s.
