    A large home was lost to fire Monday afternoon in Wake County, on Cyprine Court. Fire trucks and other emergency vehicles from Garner, Raleigh and Fuquay-Varina lined the road while neighbors gathered in the street to watch firefighters battle the blaze from the ground. A crane stretched from the firetruck into the air over the two-story residence, with water blasting onto the roof. Another hose was pointed at a neighboring home, in an attempt to keep the fire from spreading.

    A person is in the hospital Wednesday after they were shot outside a Walmart in Roanoke Rapids. According to the Roanoke Rapids Police Department, the shooting happened in the parking lot of a Walmart on Premier Blvd. Police told WRAL News they received a report of shots fired around 5:10 p.m. and found a person with gunshot wounds when they arrived. The person is in the hospital and is in "stable" condition. A viewer captured video of the large police presence during heavy downpours.
