(KRON) — A Cotati motorcyclist was arrested after he was traveling more than 100 miles per hour while drunk, the Cotati Police Department (CPD) said. Around 10:46 p.m. on May 22, an officer saw the motorist exit the Eight Ball (a bar) parking lot and accelerate southbound on Old Redwood Highway. The motorist, who police did not identify, was pulled over for speeding. The officer — who was on foot and after getting out of the patrol vehicle — was able to momentarily get the motorist to stop.

(KRON) — A longtime pizzeria in downtown Walnut Creek is closing after 25 years. East Bay pizza chain Skipolini’s has closed its location on 1535 Giammona Drive, according to a flyer posted by owner Kent A. Ipsen. Skipolini’s is closing because of the pizzeria’s decision to expand to the North Bay with a new pizzeria in Sausalito. According to Ipsen, they had to sell the building to make that happen.

(KRON) — A gastropub in San Francisco’s Marina District officially shut down this week after 16 years. Tipsy Pig’s last day was on Sunday, May 25, the establishment announced on social media. Tipsy Pig, located at 2231 Chestnut Street, has been a stop for many Marina District barhoppers through the years. Since opening in 2009, it was among the sequence of bars that gave the neighborhood exuberance on plenty of Friday and Saturday nights.
