(KRON) — A Novato man was arrested for a felony hit-and-run early Wednesday morning, the Novato Police Department announced on social media. The collision — which happened around 6:45 a.m. on Nave Court — caused a vehicle to flip over (pictured below)The suspect, a 43-year-old Novato resident, crashed into a parked car, according to police. The driver caused damage to that vehicle, and it led to a passenger being injured.

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The controversial park opening in San Francisco’s Great Highway now has a name. After a park-naming contest was open to the public for about two weeks, the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department announced on Wednesday the name of the two-mile park. Out of more than 3,900 responses and suggestions, “Sunset Dunes” was proclaimed the winner. The park will officially open on Saturday, April 12. The park-naming contest was conducted between March 20 and April 2.

(KRON) — A small bus caught on fire Wednesday afternoon in San Francisco. A call about the fire came in around 1:26 p.m. outside the KRON4 building on Vallejo and Front streets. Video from the scene shows what appears to be a shuttle bus engulfed in flames. A tail light of the bus caught on fire, according to the San Francisco Fire Department. Crews are at the scene responding to the fire. The video above shows firefighters working to extinguish the flames.

(KRON) — A woman in connection to thefts worth thousands of dollars in cosmetics was arrested in March, the Tiburon Police Department announced Tuesday in a social media post. According to police, the series of retail thefts dates back to Dec. 10, 2024 when officers were informed about shoplifting at a CVS Pharmacy. Police were informed that a suspect stole 196 cosmetic items worth $2,423.40. Although the suspect was not arrested, police identified the person and secured a $100,000 arrest warrant.
