Charlie Woods, the son of legendary golfer Tiger Woods, won his first tournament Wednesday at the Team TaylorMade Invitational in Florida. He fired a final round 66, including six birdies in a nine-hole stretch, to finish 15-under and win by three shots at the Streamsong Resort. After carding a 70 on the first day, Woods backed that up with a 65 in the second round. He trailed by one shot in the 72-man field entering the third and final round.

MaxPreps All-Americans Tati Griffin of Ontario Christian (Ontario, Calif.) and Ivanna Wilson-Manyacka of Bullis (Potomac, Md.) headline the U16 roster announced by USA Basketball on Tuesday. The team will compete at the FIBA U16 Women's AmeriCup, scheduled for June 16-22 in Irapuato, Mexico. Size won't be an issue for the Americans as 10 of the 12 players to make the team are listed over 5-foot-11.

The Panthers were the Class 7A runner-up this season. At Montverde, Jones will inherit a program coming off a 26-2 season led by MaxPreps National Junior of the Year Saniyah Hall. "The opportunity presented itself and the timing was right," Jones said in a statement posted on the school's official athletic site.

On Friday, the former Hopkins (Minnetonka, Minn.) star made her WNBA debut for the Dallas Wings as her hometown became "Paige Bueckers, Minnesota" for the day. "I didn't believe it at first. I thought it was fake news," Bueckers told the Dallas Morning News. "It's all so surreal.

USA Basketball announced the 52 athletes expected to participate in the U16 National Team training camp in Colorado Springs, Colo., running from May 21-26. The 12-member team will be announced prior to departing for the FIBA U16 Women's AmeriCup, scheduled for June 16-22 in Irapuato, Mexico. Athletes attending training camp were selected by the USA Basketball Women’s Developmental National Team Committee, which is chaired by director Brianna Weiss.
