It’s Pride Month across the U.S., and even though San Diego celebrates the occasion with its largest events in July, there are plenty of ways to enjoy Pride sooner. Some of the festivities in June include drag and comedy shows, fundraisers, musical performances and film screenings. Fans can experience the colorful look and feel of the show at “Love Island USA Pop-Up Villa: Casting Tour” on June 28. What’s better than hanging out in a lawn chair or on a blanket in a park in San Diego County during the summer? Doing that same exact thing, but there’s a free concert to enjoy. From Escondido to Coronado and many places in between, locals can take along snacks and (non-alcoholic) drinks to listen to live music at lakes, beaches and parks from June into the early fall months.

A community of military families faced major damage to their homes and vehicles on Thursday after a small plane crashed in the Murphy Canyon neighborhood. At least two people on the plane were killed and eight people injured on the ground, houses are burned and cars and trucks appear to be completely totaled.
