CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person has lost their life after a crash in the early hours of Friday, according to the Mecklenburg EMS Agency (Medic). The crash was first reported around 2 a.m. on June 20 on Interstate 485 inner near Moores Chapel Road. Medic says one person died at the crash site. It is unclear when the road reopened; however, the crash was cleared by 5 a.m. Authorities have not said what led up to the crash or how many vehicles were involved.

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Mecklenburg County residents over 60 years old or adults on disability can now register to get a free box fan from the county. A total of 480 fans are available through a donation from Duke Energy. The fans will be available for pickup starting Wednesday, June 25, and throughout the summer while supplies last. Walk-up requests will not be accepted.
