DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- A World War II hero returned home Friday. On the tarmac at the Dayton International Airport, a long-awaited salute, all for an Ohio World War II soldier, who is now finally home. Private James Loterbaugh of Roseville, Ohio served in the army during World War II. His family said he was a crew member on a M4 Sherman Tank and his entire platoon went missing after being in a battle in Germany in late 1944.

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) has awarded Dayton 24/7 a Regional Murrow Award for its podcast called "Missing Niqui McCown". Niqui McCown went missing in July of 2001 after she was last seen visiting a laundromat in Richmond, Indiana. Since then, local police have been searching for clues on her disappearance but this day she still has not been found.

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- Dayton Police body camera video shows the moments a shoplifting call involving a teenager turned into a situation he and the officers involved won't soon forget. To view the full body camera video click here. Police say back on May 13, an off-duty undercover detective witnessed a teen stealing multiple things from a Walgreens. He called for backup and officers then spoke with the teen learning about what happened. The body camera video shows this exchange.
