Wells Fargo saw the end of another one of its federal agency consent orders tied to prior problems, the bank announced Tuesday morning. In 2022, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ordered the bank to pay nearly $4 billion for what it called "widespread mismanagement" of its automobile lending, consumer deposit accounts and mortgage lending. The consent order that was terminated was related to that action.

American Airlines ordered a nationwide ground stop of its flights due to "technical issues" on Wednesday morning Christmas Eve, multiple media outlets reported, as delays mounted at Charlotte's airport and others around the country on one of the busiest travel days of the year. The ground stop was lifted after an hour, by around 8:10 a.m., outlets reported. In a post on X at 6:37 a.m., the airline said: "We're currently experiencing a technical issue with all American Airlines flights.
