Good morning. I’m Adam Himmelsbach, Celtics beat writer, filling in as a guest writer for Starting Point to write about the NBA playoffs that start this weekend. (Starting Point is taking Marathon Monday off, so Ian Prasad Philbrick will be back Tuesday.)But first, here’s what else is going on:A Florida State University student opened fire on campus, killing two people and wounding six. The hospitalized gunman is the son of a sheriff’s deputy.

Over the final few days of the regular season the Celtics are mostly focused on staying healthy while continuing to pile up wins that don’t matter much in the big picture, but certainly feel better than losses. They accomplished both goals Friday, when they rolled to a 130-94 win over the lowly and depleted Hornets. Payton Pritchard poured in 22 points and Sam Hauser added 20, with the duo combining to hit 10 of 14 3-pointers. Boston was 23 for 51 from beyond the arc as a team.

The Celtics’ game against the Wizards on Sunday had little real big-picture meaning for either team, but the teams’ interests were actually fairly aligned, even if Washington would never admit this. Boston wanted to win to continue its stretch of strong play heading into the playoffs, and the Wizards have made it clear they are more focused on increasing their chances of winning next month’s draft lottery, which would position them to draft Duke superstar and Maine native Cooper Flagg.

Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla sat down at the podium for his regular pregame press conference prior to Sunday’s game against the Wizards when he delivered a succinct message to a roomful of reporters. “Make it quick,” Mazzulla said. “UConn is playing.”Mazzulla was referring to the Huskies’ women’s basketball team, which was in the midst of its 82-59 win over South Carolina in the NCAA championship game, its record 12th national title.

Just over a minute into the Celtics’ game against the Suns on Friday night, Jaylen Brown slid past his defender with a backdoor cut before Jrue Holiday zipped a pass to him under the basket. Just about any other time over the past nine seasons, Brown would have thrilled the TD Garden crowd and set the tone for the night with a loud dunk. But in this case he jumped and gently laid the ball in off the backboard before calmly jogging back downcourt.

Derrick White has really started to distance himself in the three-player chase for the Celtics' single-season 3-point record. He's up to 257, followed by Tatum (243) and Pritchard (243).
