SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A key commander of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, Rahimullah alias Shahid Umar, was killed in Shringal, Kunar province of Afghanis-tan, in a targetted atta-ck by unidentified gunmen. There was no official statement from the Afghanistan and Pakistan governments in this regard, but the killing of the TTP commander in Afghanistan was confirmed by the militant outfit.

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Curfew has been imposed in Shakai valley of Lower South Waziristan and Ladha tehsil of Upper South Waziristan from Saturday (today) for an indefinite period due to movement of security forces to overcome the growing incidents of militancy. According to a notification issued from the office of Lower South Waziristan deputy commissioner Nasir Khan on Friday, the decision was taken due to unstable security situation prevailing in the region for the last several days.

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A man was killed and his wife and daughter were injured when a mortar shell allegedly hit their house in Ladha tehsil of Upper South Waziristan district, while a government school in Azam Warsak area of Lower South Waziristan was partially damaged in an explosion in the wee hours on Monday. A mortar shell fired from unknown location hit a house in Seega area, killing its owner, identified as Qurban Ali, and injuring his wife and a 10-year-old daughter.

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A local JUI-F leader was killed and five others were injured in an explosion in Azam Warsak market of Lower South Waziristan district on Sunday. According to police officials, a remote-controlled bomb exploded at 5pm when prayer leader Maulana Shahzada Wazir was leaving his mosque after prayers. He survived the attack and was moved to a hospital in injured condition. Other injured were identified as Saddam, Shah Hussain, Noor Hussain and Zainullah.
