They said security forces had carried out an intelligence-based operation on a tip-off in the Maddi area, adding that five militants were killed and two others injured in the crossfire.

While talking to media persons after attending the convocation of Gomal Medical College in his hometown, D.I. Khan, Mr Gandapur claimed the federal government had “illegally” invoked Article 245 during the PTI’s protest in Islamabad last month.

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN/D.I.KHAN: Six people, including three law enforcers, lost their lives in multiple attacks in Lower South Waziristan and Dera Ismail Khan districts, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Tuesday. In South Waziristan, gunmen targeted a vehicle in Daza Ghundai area of Wana tehsil using rockets and automatic weapons. As a result, three people, including a constable of the Counter-Terrorism Department, were martyred.
