Former Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava will transfer to UCLA, according to numerous reports, after leaving the Vols over a dispute about NIL pay. Iamaleava's father, Nic, did not immediately respond to a Knox News request for comment. It comes after a flurry of schools showed interest but then backed away, presumably because the asking price was too high. Details of Iamaleava's NIL deal with UCLA have not been released.

Tennessee safety John Slaughter plans to enter the transfer portal, Knox News has learned. Slaughter, a 6-foot-2, 197-pounder, played in 23 games in two seasons at UT, mostly on special teams. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining. In 2023, he made one tackle in 13 games. In 2024, he made five tackles and one interception in 10 games. Slaughter, a native of Clarksdale, Mississippi, was a three-star recruit in the 2023 class.
