Tennessee's 2025 football roster is nearly finalized, with 79 scholarship players projected, including nine seniors. The offensive line has a lone returning starter but added transfers, while the defensive line looks strong despite losing depth. Quarterback is a key position battle. But overlook youth at wide receiver and running back. The 2025 Tennessee football roster appears to be set or very close to completion. UT can still add players from the spring transfer portal, and it may snag one more.

Tennessee athletics director Danny White expressed confidence in the university's financial competitiveness, highlighting a doubled budget reaching $280 million. New rules resulting from the House v. NCAA lawsuit aim to stabilize the market with a revenue-sharing cap and an NIL clearinghouse to vet deals.

Tennessee safety Jakobe Thomas will transfer to Miami, according to multiple reports. It's a notable loss for the Vols, especially after hints that he may stay at Tennessee. Thomas requested paperwork to enter the portal before it closed on April 25, making him eligible to transfer. His name eventually appeared in the portal database on April 28. UT defensive back Boo Carter told the Chattanooga Times Free Press that he believed Thomas would remain with the Vols, but that didn't happen.

Before Tennessee lost to Ohio State's $20 million roster, there was skepticism about the talent gap. Now Texas has a $35-40 million roster? Revenue sharing + NIL is the new equation in elite college football roster building. Vols must be strong in both. https://t.co/GGe4ipLV9d
