Tennessee basketball coach Rick Barnes said it was a no-brainer to hire Steve McClain as his new assistant coach because of his extensive experience. "Steve is a veteran coach who has accomplished so much over four-plus decades. It was an easy decision to seize the chance to hire him here at Tennessee and we're happy to have him," Barnes said in a UT release "His experience, coaching acumen and care for his players will be invaluable.

Manny Marin pounds an 0-2 pitch over the drawn-in infield to score Cannon Peebles and Tennessee leads 3-0. Beautiful bunt from Chris Newstrom pushed Peebles to third after a single and a wild pitch.

It looked like Dean Curley was the player who noticed Holcomb did not retouch second and signaled for a review.

Hunter Ensley took away a potential game-tying two-run homer and got a double play out of it because Vanderbilt's Braden Holcomb did not touch second base on his way back to first base. He is a freak.
