Phillips (4-4, 3.71 ERA) will have a full week's rest before the regional opens after he made his last start on May 31 against Cincinnati. Phillips (4-4, 3.71 ERA) will have a full week's rest entering the start for the Vols (46-17) against the Razorbacks (46-13) on June 6 (5 p.m. ET ESPN) in Game 1 of the super regional in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He made his most recent start on May 31 against Cincinnati. Phillips threw 98 pitches against Cincinnati, striking out eight and allowed three runs in 6⅔ innings.

Bo Rhudy committed to Tennessee baseball as a Kennesaw State transfer on June 5. Rhudy has a 2.97 ERA with a 6-1 record and 76 strikeouts to 19 walks in 72⅔ innings in two seasons. He was 2-0 with a 3.16 ERA in 2025. He struck out 44 and walked five in 37 innings. The Chickamauga, Georgia, native has 11 saves in his career. He is the third pitcher to commit to Tennessee as a transfer. UNC Asheville pitcher Clay Edmondson and MIT pitcher Mason Estrada committed previously.

Tony Vitello doesn't have a set pitching plan yet for Tennessee baseball's super regional at Arkansas, but he expects to have a "firm decision" before the Vols leave for Fayetteville on June 6. “Just map all that stuff out as best we can and embrace the chaos when we start," Vitello said. The primary decision for the Vols is whether Liam Doyle or Marcus Phillips will start in the opener on June 7 (5 p.m. ET, ESPN) with a trip to the College World Series on the line.
