CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – We had some dry weather on Friday, but we’ve had quite a bit of rain recently, especially on the weekends. Too much rain can lead to disease, and when it gets hot and humid, things can get even worse. It’s now summer, and with all the rain we’ve had, everything is looking nice and green, but the wet conditions we had this spring have also made for perfect lawn disease conditions.

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Summer may officially arrive Friday, but it sure felt like it today with temperatures in the 90s. It’s not only the excessive heat, it’s also the humidity that can lead to dangerous conditions. It may be the last official day of spring, but summer heat and humidity have already arrived, and some people were pretty happy to see it.

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The weekend is almost here, so that means there must be rain on the way. In western Massachusetts, there has been at least some rain on pretty much every weekend since spring began back in March. It looks like there is more to come as we head into this weekend. Clouds will move in early Friday evening with showers developing mid to late evening. Lows will be in the mid-50s. Saturday will be a cloudy day with showers and drizzle, especially during the first half of the day.

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The weather is getting warmer and the bugs are really coming out. Over the years, the tick population has increased dramatically and it’s important to protect yourself from them. As the weather gets warmer, more and more of us are spending time outside. Ticks tend to be very active this time of year, and they can carry dangerous and even deadly diseases like Lyme, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and Powassan. So it’s important to avoid areas where they could be.
