Well, we believe in exit velocity, bat flips, launch angles, stealing home, the hanging curveball, Big League Chew, sausage races, and that unwritten rules of any kind are self-indulgent, overrated crap. We believe Greg Maddux was an actual wizard. We believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment protecting minor league baseball and that pitch framing is both an art and a science.

Not so easy, is it? In much the same way that it only took New York Yankees fans about one millisecond to find Juan Soto's shuffle self-aggrandizing and unnecessary after his departure, Soto appears to have learned a harsh lesson (which we were all screaming at him from afar) rather quickly in Flushing. Juan Soto chased the money this offseason. He chased his family's preferences.

A fan in Houston just grabbed Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim outfielder/MLB icon Mike Trout's glove on a foul ball into the stands and pried the baseball out of it. Let's guess whether the reaction is as loud as it was when a pair of galoot Yankees fans tried to pull Mookie Betts' wrist off during the World Series! Any guesses?

Would four runs be enough of a lead for Devin Williams to avoid making New York Yankees fans sweat on Saturday afternoon in the Bronx? Considering it was the same lead he was handed in Detroit, and considering the spitting wet weather, it seemed like no sure thing that the Yankees' new closer would escape the scrappy Giants with ease. Predictably, given San Francisco's proclivity for comebacks and Williams' prolonged slump, the leadoff man walked and the second batter of the frame doubled.

Marcus Stroman, who threw exclusively towards one half of the plate in Friday night's dreary, sopping wet Yankees loss, lasted just 2/3 of an inning before he was mercifully relieved. Haters are already willing to go on record, calling Stroman's start the weakest clapback of the modern era. Stroman's five earned runs allowed helped balloon the Yankees' starters have the worst ERA in baseball at 5.46, and that includes Max Fried, who's been historically sterling to start.

Will never forget the night MLB made an injured Marcus Stroman pitch in a rainstorm so the Giants could get a free win

Marcus Stroman was sent for testing on his left knee, which Aaron Boone said was “bugging him.” X-rays were taken at Yankee Stadium.

Definitely a fun thing to say if you’re one of the league’s great teams!
