That's after President Donald Trump pulled the North Country congresswoman's nomination to become the next ambassador to the United Nations last week, citing the GOP slim majority in the House.

In January, the town of Richmond hired Anthony Cambridge to become its new police chief, and on March 3, Richmond's town manager announced they were backing out of the plan, refusing to comment on the rationale because it was a personnel matter. Cambridge had been leading both Hinesburg and Richmond's police forces for the past two years. He had resigned from his position as Hinesburg's police chief in order to take the Richmond job.

Earlier this month, the Queen City got a bit quieter after Sergei Ushakov died. Ushakov was the main sound engineer at Nectar's in Burlington and its upstairs venue, The Lounge, formerly Club Metronome, since 1994. Ushakov liked it loud, and Ryan Clausen, Nectar's talent buyer, says he didn't mince words.

In his first day back in office, President Trump signed an executive order temporarily halting the entry of new refugees into the U.S.And late last week, his administration paused funding for groups that support refugees getting acclimated to their new homes. People around the world welcomed news that Israel and Hamas have reached a ceasefire agreement after months of negotiations. While technical details of the multi-phase plan are still being finalized, Israel will gradually withdraw troops from Gaza, as Israeli hostages are exchanged for Palestinian detainees. The deal is seen as a pathway to the end of war in Gaza after 15 months of fighting.
