Among those in the crowd this year will be Emily Kohlbacher, a New England native now living in Florida, who first ran the race in 1992 as an 18-year-old.

More than a hundred high school students are heading to the nation's capital starting March 1, during their visit students will learn the inner workings of careers in politics as part of the United States Senate Youth Program. "I'm very excited for the program. I think it's going to be a fantastic experience," Grey Fearon a senior at Vergennes Union High School said. Fearon is one of two students from Vermont in the program who are interested in pursuing a career in public service.

"The town voted to buy the negatives so I could start a historical society," said President of the Fletcher Historical Society Charles Tinker. Tinker wears many hats around town, including serving as the president of the historical society, but most people know him as the town's history buff and local genealogist.
