Three North Carolina residents are facing charges in Wisconsin for allegedly using EMP jammers to defraud slot machines. The suspects were caught after a minor car accident near a bar where they allegedly committed the scam. Police found EMP devices and parts in the suspects' vehicle and additional evidence on their phones. Two other North Carolina men face similar charges for defrauding slot machines in Muskego, Wisconsin.

A fire at the Pick 'n Save grocery store in West Milwaukee has forced it to temporarily close, according to store officials and the Milwaukee Fire Department. The fire was reported at 11:20 a.m. April 15 at the store at 2201 Miller Park Way. Fire personnel arrived immediately and saw flames coming from a dumpster near the rear of the building, according to the Milwaukee Fire Department. The store was evacuated as a safety precaution, and a second alarm was called to help extinguish the blaze.

Developers have secured approval from the City of Greenfield Planning Commission for The Signature, a new multi-family apartment complex in Greenfield, and now await the Common Council to sign off. The new 260-acre development by Cobalt Partners and Joseph Property Development will be located along 92nd Street, just north of Interstate 894. The property was purchased by developers in 2022. It was approved by the Planning Commission on April 8.

On April 1, Greenfield Mayor Michael Neitzke will face an opponent who, like him, believes public safety is a critical issue, but the two candidates differ in how they want to accomplish it. It's Greenfield's only contested race. Neitzke is an attorney who served as alderman in Greenfield from 1998 to 2005 and has been the city's mayor since 2005. His opponent, David Scherbarth, is a retiree who has 14 years of political experience as a former alderman of Greenfield.
