PARK COUNTY — Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and the Colorado Springs Fire Department's (CSFD) Heavy Rescue Dive Unit are working with the Hartsel Fire Protection District to recover a missing canoeer on Monday. According to CPW, a canoe with two adults in it tipped over while at the Spinney Mountain State Park Reservoir on Saturday. One person managed to swim to shore, but the other was unaccounted for. CPW did not release any information about whether or not the two were wearing life jackets.

COLORADO — If you've fallen behind on your rent or are facing eviction, the state is opening up another round of the 'temporary rental assistance' program. The Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) has opened its next round of pre-applications for emergency rental assistance. Those who are selected will be picked at random, then they will need to submit a full application. You can get up to seven months of rent, or $10,000. Your income cannot exceed 60% of the median income of Colorado.

COLORADO SPRINGS — A felony eluding arrest led to a major drug bust and firearms seizure, according to Colorado Springs Police. On Wednesday, patrol officers and detectives with the Metro Narcotics Unit (MNU) arrested 45-year-old James Embry for felony eluding. Officers had been surveilling him from afar on Wednesday before arresting him along South Cascade Avenue.

COLORADO SPRINGS — Drivers should be prepared for longer commute times along South Academy Boulevard on Thursday morning. Colorado Springs Utilities says crews are in the area working to repair a water main along South Academy Boulevard between Hancock Expressway and Jetwing Drive. Northbound traffic is expected to be down to one lane during the repairs. CSU hopes to have crews wrapping up work by Thursday afternoon. Expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.
