CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Fire crews are fighting a fire West of I-25, Northeast of the airport, and West of Bar Nunn, per City of Casper Fire-EMS Department . Local fire crews quickly arrived on scene, with brush trucks and a helicopter as the fire began spreading rapidly. As of about 8 pm, the fire is moving North/Northwest. Fire officials say do not call 911 to report this fire. This is a developing story. Updates to come.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (RELEASE) - On the morning of July 4, Yellowstone National Park law enforcement rangers confronted an individual shooting a semi-automatic rifle toward a dining facility at Canyon Village located in the central part of the park. The shooter has been identified by the Park County, Wyoming coroner as Samson Lucas Bariah Fussner, 28, of Milton, Florida. Fussner died after an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (RELEASE) - On Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024, at approximately 1:30 pm Officers and Medical Personnel in the area of the 100 block of East Bridge Avenue were summoned to parked vehicle for an unresponsive subject. At approximately the same time a citizen had walked into the Saratoga Town Hall to report the same incident. The subject, 38 year old, Jacob Warren McNare, of Cheyenne, was found deceased. It was determined that McNare had died from a single gunshot wound.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (RELEASE) - Rooted in Cheyenne has opened online applications for its 2024 Fall Planting event, and city residents can apply for street trees to be planted on their properties. This year’s fall planting date is Saturday, Sept. 21. Free trees are available to homeowners residing in this season’s “free tree area.” Homeowners meeting income guidelines may also be eligible for free trees. All other city residents can apply to purchase up to two trees for $50 each.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (RELEASE) - On July 4th, 2024, around 8pm, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a deceased individual near Mirror Lake. The Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and confirmed a deceased individual near the Mirror Lake Day Use area. Mirror Lake Day Use area and portions of highway 130 have been closed to the public due to investigations of the scene. There is no confirmed information about the deceased, and they remain unidentified currently.
