Queen have been recognised with a Brit Billion Award for achieving the milestone of being streamed more than one billion times in the UK. The British rock band, which consisted of lead singer Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, bassist John Deacon and drummer Roger Taylor, have been presented with the prize by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), the record industry's trade association, following analysis by the Official Charts Company.

Ryan Searle was left looking for a new hotel after dumping Peter Wright out of the Betfred World Matchplay. The Englishman was only booked into his accommodation in Blackpool until Friday, but now needs to find somewhere to stay after beating world number two Wright 11-8 to set up a quarter-final with Wales' Jonny Clayton that night. Searle told Sky Sports: "I’m going to have to try to book a hotel now because I’m meant to be leaving on Friday.

Ireland were beaten 89-49 by the world number 25 ranked side Croatia in their FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Pre-Qualifiers Round 3 opener in Opatija. Neal Quinn impressed on his international debut with 12 points, and there were plenty of positives including the return from injury of John Carroll and a strong second half, where they outscored their opponents in the third quarter. Ireland started well with a layup from 7ft centre Quinn, to take an early 2-0 lead.

Stuart Broad joined Test cricket's exclusive 600 club as he and Chris Woakes kept England's hopes of a rousing Ashes comeback alive on day one at Emirates Old Trafford. Three years after taking his 500th wicket at the same ground, Broad completed another century of scalps to join a hall of fame that includes only four other names: Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, team-mate James Anderson and Anil Kumble.
