It was close each set, but with a 26-24, 25-21, 26-24 sweep of Milford, Taunton secured at least a share of the Hockomock championship and a spot in the top half of this week’s Globe Top 20 boys’ volleyball poll. That loss to Taunton, for Milford, was sandwiched between a five-set win over Cambridge and a five-set loss to Lexington. The Scarlet Hawks are still in the top 10 as well.

Now a defensive specialist and senior captain, John is a key part of a 8-2 start for the ninth-ranked Scarlet Hawks as they look to be the first champion of the Hockomock League’s new boys’ volleyball division.
