JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Southeastern Grocers, which owns Winn-Dixie and Harveys supermarkets, confirmed to News4JAX on Friday that it has laid off multiple employees as a part of a restructuring. “As our business evolves and we look to the future, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to restructure our Store Support Center in Jacksonville and our Field Support teams across the Southeast,” a spokesperson told News4JAX in an emailed statement.

Senate Bill 814, introduced by Sen. Randy Fine (R-Melbourne Beach), failed in a 3-4 vote. The three supporting votes came from Republicans Joe Gruters, Clay Yarborough, and Committee Chair Jonathan Martin.

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has introduced a new therapy dog to support its detention deputies. Therapy K-9 Lucy, a toy Australian Shepherd, will provide comfort and emotional support to staff at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, according to a release. Lucy and her handler, Cathleen Relyea, who supervises offender programs and services at the facility, have been a certified therapy dog team for two years.
