    A week ago, the Minnesota state capitol building was active with the workings of the legislative process. On Monday, silence. Only one flag now flies over the historic building... the stars and stripes... at half-mast. People continue to make their way to the capitol to pay respects to House Speaker emerita Melissa Hortman and state Senator Mark Hoffman. A number of state workers from the surrounding complex, their ID badges waving in the humid air, came together to remember and reflect.

    Brooklyn Park's chief of police says it's not known if Vance Boelter has accomplices in the shooting of two Minnesota lawmakers. Chief Mark Bruley told WCCO's Vineeta Sawkar on the Morning News that he went through great lengths to avoid capture - and may have had help from others.     Minnesota's state emergency operations center is now active following reports of what Governor Tim Walz says were targeted shootings Saturday morning in Brooklyn Park and Champlin. A shelter in place remains in effect near Edinburgh Golf Course while Brooklyn Park police are looking for a suspect who they say is armed and dangerous. Sources say the shootings happened at the homes of two separate state lawmakers.

    A 15-year-old boy is now in custody in connection with a fatal shooting at Northtown Mall in Blaine last week. The Anoka County sheriff's office is not saying what charges are filed against the teen. Earlier this week a 20-year old man was charged with aiding an offender to avoid arrest in the killing of a Brooklyn Park teenager. Authorities say they are still in search of a 14-year-old boy who they believe was involved in the shooting that around 5:00 p.m. last Friday.
