A major road construction project is expected to snarl traffic in the heart of the Twin Cities this weekend. The bridge maintenance and repair work is taking place on Interstate 94 from Saint Paul across the Mississippi River to Minneapolis, squeezing all traffic into two lanes in each direction. It's going to be more difficult this weekend, with all eastbound lanes of 94 shut down between 35-W and Franklin. "You have to work on your house every year," says MnDOT's Kent Barnard.

After one inning, it looked like a grand home opener for the Twins. But like when everyone was encouraged not to get stressed out after an 0-4 start to the season, a fast start can mean little. The Twins barely threatened the rest of the way, and the Astros took advantage of a couple of fourth-inning gifts to take the lead on their way to a 5-2 win. Not long after the first-day ceremonies, the Twins gave the crowd of 36,783 at Target Field something to warm them up on a sunny but chilly afternoon.

Minnesota Twins baseball is coming back to free, over-the-air television. The team announced Tuesday morning that locally, FOX 9 will air ten regular season night games starting April 15 when the Twins host the Mets. Each broadcast will include a 30-minute pregame show. This announcement comes after the Twins announced a new cable and satellite deal on a handful of providers, in addition to Twins.TV which is a streaming package fans can purchase for the season, or month-to-month.

St. Paul police say the city's second reported homicide of the year happened early overnight in the Dayton's Bluff neighborhood. The call came in from the 1400 block of Sixth Street East just before midnight. "Officers arrived on the scene, they located an adult male victime suffering from multiple stab wounds," said St. Paul police sergeant Troy Vixavong. The man, believed to be in his 20's, died after he was taken to Regions Hospital.

Officials in Minnesota are seeking answers in the case of a University of Minnesota graduate student who's being detained by U.S. immigration authorities for unknown reasons. There were more protests on the campus over the weekend in reaction to the detainment. Abaki Beck represents the union of grad student employees, and told the gathering that this is another example of the government targeting students who organize activism.
