Minnesota Twins right-hander Pablo López is expected to be sidelined 8 to 12 weeks because of a strained shoulder. The Twins said Wednesday that López has a Grade 2 strain of the teres major muscle. It's the same injury that cost pitcher Joe Ryan most of his 2024 season. Lopez was the winning pitcher Tuesday night in a 10-3 victory over the Athletics, allowing two runs on four hits in five innings before leaving because of the shoulder problem.

In May, two staff members of the Israeli Embassy in Washington - a young couple on the verge of becoming engaged - were fatally shot while leaving an event at a Jewish museum, and the suspect yelled, "Free, free Palestine" after he was arrested, police said. The victims were identified as Yaron Lischinsky, an Israeli citizen, and Sarah Milgrim, an American woman - a young couple about to be engaged.

The WNBA announced that Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier has been named the Kia WNBA Western Conference Player of the Month for the first month of the 2025 season. This marks the first of Collier's career, making her the sixth Lynx player to receive the honor. Collier is off to a dominant start - much like her Lynx team which is now 8-0 on the season. During the month of May, Collier averaged 26.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.4 blocks.
