The family of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman is speaking out for the first time since Saturday's deadly shooting in Brooklyn Park that left Hortman and her husband Mark dead. Another Minnesota lawmaker and his wife were seriously injured. Hortman's mother, Linda Haluptzok, tells CBS News that Melissa kept a prayer tucked inside a small wallet that she carried with everywhere. It was quite a night for a couple of Twin Cities restaurants Monday. The Karyn Tomlinson, chef of Myriel in St. Paul won the prestigious James Beard Award for "Best Chef: Midwest" at a ceremony in Chicago. Meanwhile, South Minneapolis' Bûcheron has been named the country's "Best New Restaurant," beating out nine others for that honor. Bûcheron is only the second restaurant from Minnesota to with that award.

A 15-year-old boy is now in custody in connection with a fatal shooting at Northtown Mall in Blaine last week. The Anoka County sheriff's office is not saying what charges are filed against the teen. Earlier this week a 20-year old man was charged with aiding an offender to avoid arrest in the killing of a Brooklyn Park teenager. Authorities say they are still in search of a 14-year-old boy who they believe was involved in the shooting that around 5:00 p.m. last Friday.
