Donegal will feature prominently in a new documentary series following the highs and lows of life at sea through the eyes of professional fishermen working from ports around our coast. Local fishermen Ciarán Doherty and Ryan Murphy are both flying the flag for the North West throughout the four-part series called Tarrac na Farraige. Ciarán is from Killybegs and based out of Burtonpoint, while Ryan is originally from Castletownbere, Co Cork, and has been fishing in Killybegs for years.

A fundraising drive is underway to begin the rebuild of St Mary's in Derrybeg, the church that was burned in the early hours of Monday morning. The GoFundMe - Aththógáil Teach Pobail Mhuire - Help Rebuild Our Church - which was set up by Mary Coyle, went live this afternoon and has gathered over €10,000 already.

Two teenagers were assaulted in Ballybofey in separate attacks. The incidents took place at an alleyway on Lower Main Street, Ballybofey, between 6:30pm and 7pm on Wednesday, April 16. A young female was assaulted by a male teenager and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A young male had also been assaulted by a group of teenage girls in the same location during those times. His injuries are also not believed to be life-threatening.

Donegal had six drink driving and a further 10 drug driving arrests over the weekend. Garda Niall Maguire said the increase in the number of drug-driving arrests is a concern in particular and believes there may be a link to knock-on effects. Throughout the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend, an extensive Garda Roads Policing Operation was in place between 7am on Thursday, April 17, to Tuesday, April 22, at 7am.

Amber Barrett helped Standard Liege to victory in the Belgian Women's Cup final on Monday. Abdulai Toloba scored the only goal in 15 minutes in the 1-0 win over Anderlecht, to help Standard to a 10th victory in the competition. They were 4-1 winners in the semi-final against OHL, winning 4-1, with Barrett, a native of Milford, having scored twice. Fellow Irish internationals Claire O'Riordan and Aoife Colvill are also with Standard.
