It was a brilliant Bank Holiday weekend for Bourne. The men from the Abbey Lawn first saw off Nettleham by five wickets in a Lincs Premier Division match on Saturday and they followed up by reaching Winkworth Cup Finals Day – the Lincs T20 Championships – with group wins over Grantham and Burghley Park. Dan Freeman (74) top scored as Bourne cruised past Nettleham’s 159 and Ben Woodward cracked an unbeaten 72 from just 51 balls to seal a five-wicket win over Grantham.

Peterborough United have confirmed their interest in Braintree winger Kyrell Lisbie. The ‘Football Insider’ website reported the link on Monday morning and have Posh have admitted to the PT this afternoon that report is accurate. Lisbie (21) is the son of former Charlton striker Kevin Lisbie and has a twin brother Kyreece who is on the books at Colchester United.

Netherton United Women beat Ruston Sports 3-1 in the final of the Lincs League Cup in Grimsby on Sunday. Katie Steward scored twice and Megan Owen also netted for the city side who also finished second in the league. It’s been a great couple of weeks for Netherton United as the men’s first team won the Northants Lower Junior Cup and the Peterborough League Challenge Cup to add to a promotion from Division One in the Peterborough League.

City of Peterborough Hockey Club have crowned an outstanding season with a major cup final win at the Olympic Park. City, who raced to the East Premier Division title, travelled to Lea Valley for England Hockey Finals Day on Sunday to contest the Tier Two men’s final against Manchester-based Bowden. And they came out on top of a scrappy, cagey affair 1-0 thanks to a goal from an unlikely source.
