Birmingham City appear to have moved onto other winger targets as the Kwame Poku transfer saga drifts into another week. Poku will leave Peterborough United as a free agent this summer after letting his contract at London Road expire and League One champions Birmingham have been the most obvious and persistent pursuers of the 23 year-old.

Peterborough United have not given up hope of making a second signing of the summer ahead of the first transfer deadline day of the summer on Tuesday (June 10, 7pm). The transfer window re-opens on June 16 and will not shut until September 1. There have been 22 signings by League One clubs since the end of last season. Twelve clubs have signed new players including Posh who took young attacker from National League side Braintree.

Posh linked with another Bristol Rovers playerPosh have been linked with a move for Bristol Rovers midfielder Kamil Conteh. The 22 year-old was reported to be of interest to Posh in a report on Derbyshire Live which suggests the Sierra Leone international is also a target for Derby County. Conteh moved to Rovers from Grimsby for £300k 18 months ago. He was injured for much of last season, making 22 appearances for a a team relegated from League One.

Fenland Clarion cyclists ladies broke a 44 year-old club record in the sixth round of the Northants Time Trial Championships. The sixth round of the series was hosted by Peterborough Cycling Club on the Sawtry based N1/15 course over a 15-mile distance and the city club provided the race winner in Paul Pardoe. Pardoe finished in an impressive 30.32 with clubmate Jamie Murray fourth in 32.01.

Great Britain ice hockey legend Ashley Tait will lead Peterborough Phantoms into a new era at Planet Ice. Tait (49) will replace Slava Koulikov who had been head coach at Phantoms for 11 seasons before leaving to join National League rivals Sheffield Steeldogs in the 2025-26 season. Tait is one of the most decorated players in GB hockey. He began his junior career in Nottingham, while also spending time in Canada with the Lac St-Louis Lions.
