    Staff at the Woodgreen Animal Shelter are warning cat owners in Peterborough to be aware of the legal requirement for the pets to be microchipped. The alarm has been sounded just days ahead of the first anniversary – June 10 – of compulsory cat microchipping. From last year it became a legal requirement under the Microchipping of Cats and Dogs (England) Regulations 2023.

Nick Dean, the Chief Constable of Cambridgeshire Constabulary, has announced he will retire from the service in September. A police spokesperson said: “Chief Constable Nick Dean’s contract has come to an end and he will be leaving in September.”Mr Dean was appointed Chief Constable in September 2018.
