You announced this summer that you would be leaving your position before the end of your term. What will you do now that your work as state secretary is coming to an end? I don't know yet. I've received several offers from both the private and public sectors. I've made some choices and decisions for myself, but the final outcome doesn't depend solely on me. I have a couple of options in progress and we'll see how they turn out. You've said several times that you will not enter politics.

Pollster Norstat puts the non-parliamentary Parempoolsed's (Right-wingers) rating currently at 4.2 percent. Party leader Lavly Perling emphasized that ratings should not be overvalued and that the most important thing is to remain true to their principles. "Our goal is to raise support from 5 to 10 percent. We aim to engage intelligent, self-reliant individuals who understand that people make the best decisions for themselves – not the state or local governments.

Politics in Narva, a majority Russian-speaking town on the eastern border, are idiosyncratic even compared with the rest of Ida-Viru County. While the region was traditionally a Center Party stronghold, this has been in decline since 2019, leaving a power vacuum and frequent changes in Narva's governing coalition. Any new coalition agreement would only be a stop-gap measure ahead of the October 2025 local elections.

You presented Tallinn's 2025 budget on Friday, which seems more optimistic and ambitious than one would perhaps expect. How did you manage to put together a surplus budget in an economic crisis in the first place? There are two aspects here. Firstly, compared to many other local governments, Tallinn has the advantage of a growing population. And more residents means more taxpayers. Tallinn also has a more robust labor market than some other areas.
