    PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland Diamond Project has rounded another base in the effort to bring a Major League Baseball team to the Rose City. On Thursday, the Oregon Senate passed a funding bill that would support the construction a new ballpark on Portland's South Waterfront. The bill passed with a 24 to 5 vote. Senate Bill 110 clears the way for the state to provide Portland Diamond Project with up to $800 million in state bonds for the ballpark's construction — with an unique payback option.

    PORTLAND, Ore. — A semi-truck spilled its load in a crash on U.S. 26, prompting all lanes to be closed just five miles west of Government Camp on Friday morning. There are no local detours and the closure is expected to last several hours, the Oregon Department of Transportation said. "The crash involves at least one semi that spilled its load, and that’s a major factor in the time it takes to reopen the highway," ODOT told KGW. The highway is closed between milepost 45 and 48.

    PORTLAND, Ore. — Three men from Texas posed as agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in an attempt to steal over 200 pounds of marijuana from a rural home in southern Oregon. On Wednesday, one of the men, Juan Carlos Conchas, 23, pleaded guilty to conspiring to interfere with commerce by robbery and conspiring to possess marijuana with the intent to distribute. He faces a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison, a $5 million fine and four years of supervised release.
