    PORTLAND, Ore. — A man in Cowlitz County has been arrested for attempting to exchange an automatic submachine gun, a suppressor and a motorcycle for an ATV for sale on Facebook Marketplace. In the exchange, 40-year-old Jacob Shawn Dixon acknowledged that the firearm would be illegal in Washington but instructed the person selling the all-terrain vehicle to just not tell anyone about it.

    PORTLAND, Ore. — Th U.S. Job Corps training center in Astoria will shut down and lay off 168 staff members after the federal government terminated its contract. According to an Oregon WARN notice, a mass layoff notice filed with the state, Management & Training Corp. (MTC) lost its contract with the U.S. Department of Labor to operate the Tongue Point Job Corps Center, effective June 30. No new operator is slated to operate the center, the filing said.

    PORTLAND, Ore. — The Interstate 5 northbound right lane was closed for several hours on the ramp to Marquam Bridge due to a disabled semitruck, prompting a several-mile long traffic backup during Wednesday's morning commute. The northbound right lane of I-5 closed at 5 a.m. on Wednesday but reopened around 8:30 a.m. Traffic cameras in the area on the Oregon Department of Transportation's TripCheck website shows traffic remains backed up, despite the lane reopening.
