JAMESTOWN, Va. — An analysis of grant information from the Institute of Museum and Library Services shows that coastal Virginia receives more than $2 million in federal grant funding across various museums and library sites. Now, there is a fear over the future of that funding, following the dismantling of the IMLS. Records show the IMLS, established in 1996, accounted for more than $15 million of federal grant funding for libraries and museums across the Hampton Roads region.

HAMPTON, Va. — Court records obtained by 13News Now reveal a history of alleged threats made by the man who was shot by Hampton Police Division officers on Monday. According to a newly filed criminal complaint, a woman told Hampton dispatchers that John Jones Jr. allegedly pointed a rifle at her near 81st Street, near the Newmarket area of the city. According to the complaint, when officers arrived, Jones was observed shirtless and with a gun in his holster.

NORFOLK, Va. — Operators for the Norfolk casino project announced changes to its leadership on Monday, appointing Ronald "Ron" Bailey as the new Vice President and General Manager. The announcement comes roughly four months after a ceremonial groundbreaking late last year and months before the operators must fulfill a regulatory requirement to have a temporary casino structure on the grounds by November 2025.
