Bucknell is working with consultant Billy Sparacio, former First Baptist Academy athletic director, to develop the Knights' athletic program. The Village School has recently invested in facilities and hired experienced coaches for various sports. For the final time this season, citizens of Poplar Bluff gathered Tuesday night at the Poplar Bluff High School baseball field to watch Buddy Ball. “It was great,” said Buddy Ball Board President Alex Tinker. “The weather turned out beautiful. Huge shoutout to Poplar Bluff maintenance crew for getting the fields ready for us. It was a great night to wrap up the season.”Following the conclusion of each game, the athletes received medals for their participation throughout the course of the season.

Incoming Poplar Bluff High School freshman Anna Bell won the girls Junior Match Play Championship on Thursday in Sedalia, Missouri. She beat out Betsy Mitchell in the final round after advancing with a victory against Kate Ryan. Bell won on holes eight and nine, and tied the match at hole 10. From that point, the match was neck-and-neck until Bell put herself in front at hole 15. She managed to earn the victory with a 2-up on the 18th hole.
