An 18-year-old is dead following a shooting in Jackson. Jackson police said they responded to the shooting around 4:30 p.m. Friday on Fairfax Avenue. According to Detective Tommie Brown, when officers arrived on scene, they found 18-year-old Samuel Taylor with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Brown said Taylor succumbed to his injuries. Prior to Taylors death, police said they were dispatched to a shooting on Chadwick Drive where several apartments were hit with gunfire.

Jackson police are investigating after a body was discovered in the back of a burned vehicle on Glen Erin Street.Detective Tommie Brown said the vehicle was found burning this morning. Jackson Firefighters responded to the scene and put out the fire. Brown said the vehicle, a 2009 Honda Accord, was completely burned. While evaluating the vehicle, Brown said firefighters discovered the body.The victim has not yet been identified.

Jackson police are investigating a shooting at a barbershop in West Jackson that left multiple people injured.According to Detective Tommie Brown, the shooting took place on Robinson Road at Kerron's Kutz.Brown said detectives are interviewing witnesses and victims at the hospital. The number of people injured and their conditions, have not yet been released.

The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is raising awareness about their toy drive collection. According to Mississippi area coordinators, the mission of the program is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas.Coordinators said they try to distribute one toy per child but would like to do more if more people donate to the cause.

The Mayor of McComb has confirmed that his chief of police, Juan Cloy is on administrative leave pending an investigation.According to Mayor Quordiniah Lockley, Chief Juan Cloy was place on leave following an officer-involved shooting that left a 16-year-old dead. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said the shooting happened November 14 near 212 25th Street.
