MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. — Kentucky State Police are investigating allegations that a Marshall County Student Resource Officer sent improper text messages to a high school student, according to Post 1 Public Affairs Officer Trooper Sarah Burgess. On Wednesday, Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hilbrecht said SRO Steven Oakley was placed on paid administrative leave, pending an internal investigation into allegations of improper messaging. He said the agency was following KRS 15.520.

PADUCAH — Wednesday morning, the Paducah Police Department responded to a reported bomb threat at Kentucky Oaks Mall. According to PPD, officers and mall staff performed a search of the building but did not locate any explosive device. "We want to remind the public to stay vigilant and aware of their surroundings at all times," PPD stated.

PADUCAH — The Paducah Police Department is investigating an incident at Kentucky Oaks Mall, Community Engagement Officer Blake Quinn confirmed Wednesday morning.
